SUMMARY:AVLAN Riverfly kick-sampling for invertebrates – Bank Car Park
DESCRIPTION:Come along to join an enthusiastic group of AVLAN volunteers at 10.00 am on Saturday 5th September for about 1 – 1.5 hours.  We will be kick-sampling for invertebrates, such as cased caddis, freshwater shrimp and mayfly larvae, which are all indicators of water quality.\n\nIt’s interesting and fun!\nWe will kick-sample in the Bank Car Park near the Community Centre, as the river is dry in Flood Meadows as usual at this time of year.  We will then move on to the river behind Costa, a section improved by a major ACAN project in 2023, which currently requires some clearance work.  Wear or bring Wellington boots for this activity, please.  Also plastic gloves and a bag for rubbish if possible.\n\n
