This group promotes walking, cycling and public transport to reduce our dependence on cars. About a quarter of our carbon emissions come from travel fuelled by petrol and diesel.

The group campaigns for better cycling and walking routes, including for the new estates, which need safe routes with signposts into the town centre and to the station. Crossings also need to be planned ahead of developments and many more dropped kerbs are required in existing streets.

The group supports the Alton Community Bus Saturday Shuttle (see their Facebook page), which especially helps people from the Wooteys and Eastbrook areas to get into town. It needs support and funds. A £50 donation covers most of the cost of the service. For more details message the Facebook page or call Paula on 01420 558333.

Members of the group are involved in planning a transport strategy for the town. They also support initiatives to improve the facilities and attractiveness of Alton Railway Station.
