Riverfly – Invertebrate sampling, River Wey, Bank Car Park

Join an enthusiastic group of AVLAN volunteers at 10.00 am on Saturday 22nd November 2025 for about an hour by the river in the Bank Car Park (near the Library and Community Centre).  We will be kick-sampling for invertebrates, such as cased caddis, freshwater shrimp and mayfly larvae, which are all indicators of water quality.

It’s interesting and fun!

As the River Wey is a Winterbourne, it is dry near its source at this time of year, so we are unable to Kicksample in Flood Meadows until the water starts flowing again from the springs.
