MUSIC FOR MALAWI at the White Hart Holybourne for ACAN’s Gumbi project
Have a wonderful time at the White Hart in Holybourne on Saturday 23rd August, supporting ACAN’s sustainable farming project in Gumbi, rural Malawi. Drumming and face painting for families in the afternoon, then live music in the evening. The White Hart serves good food.
The Permaculture Community Training Centre in Gumbi is ACAN’s climate justice project. Gumbi is in a rural area where most people are subsistence farmers. About 7 million people in Malawi – one third of the population – are facing hunger this year, due to extreme weather (especially prolonged dry spells). Permaculture does not use chemical fertiliser and cultivates a wide variety of native crops. It offers Malawians hope of life without food shortages.
