This video is a heart-warming and inspirational account of a visit in June 2026 by Jenny Griffiths -representing its sponsor ACAN – to the communities supported by the Permaculture Community Training Centre in Gumbi, Malawi, Africa. PCTC trains and provides resources for 525 farmers organised into co-operatives across 22 villages in the Gumbi community. Training includes crop diversity, water-retentive and organic agricultural methods, and compost-making.

The video includes footage of Jenny being made a honorary member of the Ngoni tribe.

Malawi is the fifth poorest country in the world. Two thirds of the population live in food poverty and people die from hunger when the rains fail. There is great concern about the impact of the predicted “Super” El Nino on rainfall in the coming months.
