NEW YEAR, NEW YOU? Chris Packham urges you to come along

Chris Packham urges everyone to attend our inspirational event on 11 January from 3 – 4.30 pm.

It’s a unique opportunity to meet volunteers from 3 different ACAN groups and find out what they do:

• AVLAN  –  Alton & Villages Local Action for Nature – see the Greening Alton online map (which has had over 9,000 views) and chat to volunteers about AVLAN’s work to help nature recover around our town
• ALFI  – Alton Local Food Initiative – sowing, growing, sharing and supporting local food
• SUSTAINABITES  – Raising awareness of the benefits of eating more plant-based foods, for ourselves and for the planet.

Each group will give a short talk (starting at 3:15pm) and there will be displays of their work as well as plant-based nibbles, supplied by SustainaBites and, of course, plenty of time to chat.

There will be a raffle and at 4pm we will be announcing the winners of the Schools Pollinator Campaign Poster competition.  The highly commended and winning entries will be on display.
